THE VALUE OF FRIENDLY How friendly are the people in your company? How friendly is your boss? How friendly are you? How important is friendly? Friendly is a quality that ranks either number one or two by most people when dealing with a personal service consultant or salesperson. Friendly makes sales…it generates repeat business. Friendly is a quality…Like all qualities, there are varying degrees of competence. Friendly is a degree…What’s the temperature of friendly at your company? Cold or warm? What’s the relationship between friendly staff and loyal customers? One breeds the other. If being friendly is so important, then why isn’t everyone friendly? One reason is that people are too serious about everything – bosses, for instance, who "set the tone" for the rest of the people. Is your boss friendly? The CEO? Executive friendliness sets the tone for not only frontline people, but all employees. Do friendly businesses make it? Nordstrom is friendly. Starbuck’s is friendly. Barnes and Noble are friendly. Ask them. The Secret Corporate big wigs – and small business owners – need to create a friendly environment and train people to be friendly and act friendly all the time. Friendly has to be "on purpose." If you’ve become disgruntled, cynical or a hot-and-cold person, it’s time to renew or move on. Friendly, like attitude, is internal – it’s not about your circumstances – it’s about your desire to be friendly to others. The value of friendly is beyond measure. It costs nothing yet it’s worth a fortune. It creates a company’s reputation and creates your reputation. It’s the most contagious disease known – catch it and spread it!!!
