Planning For A More Successful Year

"Success is doing what you like to do and making a living at it." Jim Zinger

Many people make a mistake by seeking a "quick fix" and then compound matters by setting unattainable expectations for themselves, their staff and business. When dealing with a problem or wanting to modify an existing practice, expecting overnight change is not realistic and unwise. What is good for big companies is also good for smaller companies. Here are some smart things that CEO’s do to stay on top of their game and to help their companies become even more successful...

  1. Make a plan: Do not try to do everything at once. You can’t move from point A to point Z by saying "abracadabra." Lofty goals are best attained by breaking them into more manageable steps. A whole meal is not eaten at once but by one forkful at a time.
  2. Identify your strengths: Concentrating on things you haven’t accomplished draws energy away from your ultimate objective. Learn to celebrate even small accomplishments. Doing this helps maintain positive momentum.
  3. Learn something new: Making a commitment to life-long learning is your passport to success. No one single person knows everything. Sign up for a class, register for that seminar or read that book. Invest in your staff by making it possible for them to attend a key seminar. Any business is as only good as its weakest employee!
  4. Give back: Focus on the tremendous things you have and find the outlet to share with those who are not as fortunate. The act of giving feeds your soul, helps to keep your feet on the ground and attain more success and wealth.
  5. Surround yourself with positive people: Negative people or those without vision or goals pose a challenge to your focus and to maintaining a positive attitude. Get rid of all negative influences!
  6. Take time for yourself: Being good to yourself helps inspire and refresh your thinking and attitude. Time to relax and doing something you always wanted to do nurtures the mind and body.

Want to make your next spring, summer or fall educational seminar the best ever? Give Mike a call. He will customize a presentation meeting the exact needs of your organization or group. Want to accelerate the development of specific skills of your staff...understanding the new consumer, proper telephone answering skills that results in acquiring new business, building trust in the arrangement conference, how to present burial and cremation merchandise for maximum gain, how to differentiate your business from your competition, and more???
